-THE PLAGUE MASS formed in early 2004, following the demise of Pledge Alliance. Those of you, who were wise enough, saw Pledge Alliance live in Villa Amalias when they played. The formation of thePlague Mass was followed by an eastern European tour (2004) and this was followed by the recording and release of “Visitation” (2005, Noise Appeal), which in now sold out. The release was backed-up by a second European tour (2005), touring together with label-mates Worlds Between Us.This lead to a second collaboration between the bands giving birth to a split 7” record released by the same label (2006, Noise Appeal). A French tour followed (2006) and then the “Deathless” E.P. was released in 2006 (Noise Appeal). This release was supported with a third European tour (2006) part of which was with Oroku (USA). We had the chance to see them live in that tour only to become obsessed with the band (my mobile phone ringtone and alarm clock were Lethiathan for two years…).

-2007 found the Plague Mass doing their fourth European tour and the recording and release of “Living Among Meat Eaters” on L.P. by Noise Appeal and Deaf Cult records in 2008. Once again this release was supported by heavy touring around Europe. From the above, it is obvious that Plague Mass is a hardworking, dedicated and honest band, something that can be seen by their constant touring and the increasing number of followers and to what they have to say. Ripping guitars, with brutal and extremely fast parts, sometimes optimistic but overall dark, epic and at points very melodic. It is not exaggerating to say, that Plagues Mass is one of the most important and influential punk/hardcore bands of the European and most particularly the Austrian scene.

-2009 finds the Plague Mass ready to release their latest record in CD by Playfalse and Come Dancing Records and ready to embark onto their Eastern European tour which will take them to places such as Italy, Greece, Turkey, Bulgaria and Serbia. With the band having matured after gathering the experiences they managed to obtain throughout the years, “Living Among Meat Eaters” is their best work so far. Darker, faster, thrashier, perfect. Get ready for the end of days, the Plague of the Masses.
